Seeking adult paid non-union actors for “The Adventures of Nick Nutrition and His Dog Fiber” by Tom Quinn Directed by David McLellan. Daytime availability for School Performances required.
Audition Date:
Saturday, November 9 at 3:00pm
Please prepare/memorize a 1-minute comedic monologue and be ready to read scenes from the script. Please bring resume and current headshot to auditions.
Roles:
Casting two women and two men. Seeking 4 versatile, high-energy actors to each play a multitude of roles. All performers should be comfortable silly-singing, dancing, and going through a series of quick costume changes. Experience with sketch comedy and puppetry is a plus. Actor track specifics are as follows:

“Nick Nutrition and His Dog Fiber” description:
Who will save the world from the villains of bad eating habits? Have no fear! Nick Nutrition and His Wonder Dog Fiber are here! By day, an average boy and his dog, but, after school, they become an intrepid pair of superheroes dedicated to improving the minds and bodies of the kids and parents of our fair city. This play offers fun and entertaining introduction of daily activity, while providing students with a head start to a healthy future. With Nick’s courage and Fiber’s intelligence, students are empowered to take control of their health!
Cast of Characters:
Actor 1: Female, 30s-40s
Plays “Buffet Barb,” the crazy lunch lady and “Madge” the friendly diner server, among other characters.
Actor 2: Female, 20s-30s
Plays “Fiber the Wonderdog” (a puppet) and “Dr. Deep-Fry” the mad scientist, among other characters.
Actor 3: Male, 20s
Plays Bradlee the younger brother and his alter-ego: Nick Nutrition, a superhero, among other characters.
Actor 4: Male, 20s
Plays Kyle the older brother, “Candyman” the smooth salesman, and “Richard Swarzensimmons,” the extreme fitness instructor, among other characters.
Director: David McLellan is thrilled to be joining the Fantasy Playhouse Children's Theater and Academy for their upcoming production of "The Adventures of Nick Nutrition and His Dog Fiber." Prior to living in Huntsville, David served as the producing artistic director of Kohl's Wild Theater, a professional theater for young audiences in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While in that position, he directed over 21 original plays and musicals for young people. As an actor, David has performed across the country with companies such as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Round House Theater, Imagination State, Surflight Theater, Cape Rep Theater and Universal Studios. David now serves as the Director of Guest Experience for the EarlyWorks Family of Museums in Huntsville, AL.
