Rapunzel & the Beanstalk Sensory Friendly Performance

  • Fantasy Playhouse Children's Theater and Academy 3312 Long Avenue Southwest Huntsville, AL, 35805 United States (map)

Rapunzel is the only plant scientist in Nysland to never touch the real earth and she’s sick of being stuck in that tower. When her friend Willy Nilly Wallywart, the worst witch in town, mistakenly whips up her famous bean dip using the last of the magic beans, Rapunzel’s famous ponytail grows to new heights in the form of an enormous beanstalk. Jack, now the biggest social influencer in Nysland must face that beanstalk once again. Who climbs up? What falls down? And why are all of the plants wilting more and more by the day? Join us for our next adventure in the Nysland fairytale forest for a story about bravery, second chances, science, critical thinking, kindness, and using influence for good.

Sensory Friendly Performances make space for audiences with special access needs. Visual and sound effects are lowered, fidget toys and other sensory assistance tools will be distributed, and house lights will stay dimly lit to accommodate first time patrons with sensory disabilities. This new sensory friendly season is part of Fantasy Playhouse’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, one of the first initiatives of its kind to take place in Alabama. Tickets are on sale to the general public to these special performances.

Sensory Friendly Kits will be provided at all performances. Kits include:

  • Ear protection

  • Sunglasses

  • 2 types of Fidgets
