Taylor Bogan - Education Director

Taylor Bogan is a versatile performing artist and arts educator from the New Jersey Shore. She began her career at the age of seven, auditioning for film, television, and theatre in New York City. Afterward, she attended the Performing Arts Academy High School as an acting major. Taylor earned a B.A. in Theatre and a Minor in Musical Theatre from Monmouth University in Long Branch, New Jersey, before going on to pursue a Dual Track M.F.A. in Theatre for Young Audiences (with a concentration in Directing) and Acting at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa. As a performer, Taylor has toured as a vocalist with Australian music artist Turk Tresize, co-hosted a popular video blog series, worked as a freelance voiceover artist, and performed at various theatres throughout the tri-state area. She is also the co-founder of the JoiStar Summer Intensive, a triple-threat arts camp that caters to students of all ages, sparking her passion for teaching. In 2016, Taylor became the Vocal Director at Manasquan Music & Dance Academy, where she coached the award-winning children’s vocal group The Vocal Stars, taught voice and acting classes, and served as Studio Manager. While studying in Hawaii, Taylor also worked as an Acting Lecturer at the University of Hawaii, teaching courses such as Intro to Acting, World Theatre, and Acting for TV & Film. Taylor’s achievements include being named a Jim Rye Fellow at the International Performing Arts for Youth Conference, and she has been an invited presenter at the Hawaii Book and Music Festival and the Artists Meet Early Years program in Italy. She has received numerous accolades, including the John Young Scholarship in the Arts, the Glenn Cannon Award for Excellence in Acting, and the Tara Montgomery Award for Excellence in Theatre for Young Audiences.Since joining Fantasy Playhouse, Taylor has developed a readers’ theatre program in partnership with the Huntsville Learning Center and collaborates with the Birdie Thornton Center to offer theatre arts classes for adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. Taylor is also an active member of the Huntsville City Schools Arts Magnet Task Force and serves as a guest lecturer at the University of Alabama Huntsville, the Alabama Arts Alliance, and Alabama Jr. Thespians.
